Abhishek Hastir

Q: Tell us about you and your role within the SU.

A: I am enrolled in the program of Electromechanical Engineering under FAST at Davis campus. I had the opportunity to represent Davis students last year and loved every bit of it. I also represent FAST as one of the student senators in Sheridan Senate. I endeavor to be not only the voice but also helping-hand of all those students who believe in making Sheridan and the lives of students at Sheridan a better place for all. I believe it is not something which can be achieved and get done with, rather it is an avenue with endless room for opportunity for improvements which can make a positive impact on the lives of many.

Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?

A: To have myself succeeded by a student who is an even bigger motivator and supporter of students will be the goal of paramount importance during my term. This goal demands students to be aware of SSU and it's role more than ever, make efforts to positively impact and support student's lives at Sheridan which can be exemplified to successors, to make Sheridan a place where every culture, religion, opinion, sexuality, and race is respected and celebrated in a true inclusive sense.

Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?

A: I am in Electromechanical Engineering Technology Program at Davis. I chose this program because in my opinion, this will be the future of technology and industry. A realm which will have three main trades spearheading it, namely Mechanical, engineering and robotics.

Q: What are 3 things on your bucket list?

  • Bring other's dreams to reality.

  • Going in politics (considering the fact I have no political background)
