Tell us about you and your role within the SU:

I am a good listener and will do my best to solve the concerns of students. I am quite confident that I can be a good representative on behalf of all the students.

Tell us about you and your role within the SU:

I am Abhishek and I am in the second year of Electromechanical Engineering Technology Program, here at Davis Campus. I represent FAST as one of the two Student Senators and I have always taken the initiative to raise the voice of students in front of right personnel.

One of the things I am looking forward to achieving until April'19 is spreading enough awareness among students about already set up clubs, events, services, opportunities and bringing new ideas to the table to foster this idea. My vision is to put forth the voice of all those students who want to make Sheridan a better place for all and try to bring a better balance to the academic and non-academic life of the students. Being a good listener is a crucial part in leadership roles like these and I love listening to students.

I love the immense talent and potential Sheridan carries in its diversity and I firmly believe that Sheridan is a great platform for all the students like you and me to develop and grow this talent. I would honestly want a better student leader than myself to replace me for the next term of Board of Director who could support and advocate for a better student life at Sheridan, in a much more enthusiastic and passionate way.

Tell us a fun fact about you:

I am a huge fan of adrenaline rush and I am always down for adventurous stuff. I made it a resolution to try at least one adventurous activity like skydiving, bungee jumping etc each year.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?:

It would either be my grandparent's home or a place where I could sit and see the World from, most probably outer space. In both cases, I want to be able to see the "world".

Ayman Usmani

Board of Directors 2018-2019
Davis Campus

"Hi all! My name is Ayman Usmani and I am a Practical Nursing student at the Davis Sheridan College campus. A couple months back, I received an email announcing the start of nomination submissions for the SSU Board of Directors. I thought "hey, why not?", and that mere thought led to the meeting of many wonderful people along my path to actually being on the Board. I figured that if I am going to be here for just 2 years, then I might as well make it a meaningful experience and leave a positive footprint on this campus. Many people have shared with me their opinions about what change they would like to see, and I hope i can do my absolute best in the upcoming year to make them come true. I look forward to connecting with even more students in the future, and reminding them that they have someone they can always reach out to whenever need be."

Tell us a fun fact about you: I have the delightful and highly-sought after skill of being able to handle two incredibly annoying younger sisters :)))) *she types as she tries to brush off both of their peering faces off her shoulders* (just kidding) (not really) (send help).

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Although I have been in Canada since I was just a year old, I was born in Pakistan. I haven't been there in more than 10 years, and being able to reconnect with faraway relatives and my richly diverse culture would mean the world to me.

If you had to watch one (and ONLY one) series on Netflix for the rest of your life, what would it be? Oh geez, I actually rarely watch or read the same thing twice. I'd rather never watch Netflix again than watch the same show for the rest of my life. But I guess I'll say that The Big Bang Theory has been on my bucket list for the longest time and has more than enough episodes to last me for a while.
