Davis Campus (Part-time Student Position)

The Clubs Coordinator will act as the primary contact for your assigned club group for events, initiatives, and club engagements, and maintain consistent contact throughout the year. The responsibilities include:
Assess and approve all new campus club applications, alongside the Assistant Manager and Director, and verify the annual renewal of existing campus clubs, provided they meet the requirements.
Oversee an assigned group of active campus clubs.
Assist clubs with both on and off-campus event coordination.
Work with other SSU departments to ensure that all information in terms of large club events are communicated in an efficient and timely manner according to SSU timelines.
Attend weekly department meetings to update the team on any planned club group initiatives.
Engage and encourage Sheridan students to create, maintain and join clubs – both social and academic.
Organize, coordinate and run a campus Clubs Fair once each semester as well as other large department events as required.
Work closely with the SSU events department to encourage collaborations between clubs and various other event initiatives.
Organize table engagements and pop ups for clubs in our SSU student centre spaces to continuously provide access for clubs to engage with students.
Co-op Placement

It is important to note that this position encompasses a range of responsibilities and should be
ever-changing and adaptive. Finance will provide full training and ongoing support to the Co-op student in this position to ensure the individual gets the full experience and builds a solid
foundation toward an accounting career.Specific duties include:
Accounts Payable – A full cycle of accounts payable, including prompt payment of invoices, expense reimbursements, other cheque requests on a weekly basis, and collecting T4A Self-Employed forms
Corporate Visa Expense Entries – Review to ensure complete and accurate Visa
reconciliation entries and to follow up with cardholders on any outstanding mattersBank reconciliation – Assist with completing bank reconciliation and month-end journal entries
Finance Committee – Assist with coordinating Finance Committee meetings and updating minutes, other workshops and trainings
Finance initiatives and projects - Assist with coordinating finance events and projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Accounting at Sheridan College
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Able to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team
Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Professional work ethic and ability to exercise sound judgment, which may include maintaining confidential information
