A few initiatives we’ve worked on:

Black History Creative Contest

We’ve partnered with Sheridan College and community leaders for our Black History Month Creative Reflection Contest. Together we awarded up to 10 students with prizes varying from $250 to $750 in value for their submissions.

Black History Month Collection

In celebration of Black History Month at Sheridan, we were proud to share the work of Sheridan student and Junior Designer, Charlene, who created the brand identity for our SSU Black History Month. All proceeds go directly to Sheridan Black Students Association.

SSU Student Awards

In Fall 2021, Sheridan Student Union introduces SSU’s Diversity in Education Award to recognize the impact of race as a social construct.

Available to all full-time domestic/international student applicants, $25,000 will be awarded to Black, Indigenous and racialized students in increments.
