“Hi Sheridan, my name’s Nhu Y Lai Tran but you can call me Nyah for short. I'm an international student from a beautiful country named Vietnam and my program is Business Accounting.
I am a full-time student, a part-time extrovert, a people-oriented person, a Tims addict, a meme lord who always wants to see a smile on your face ;)
When I took part in a number of SSU-organized activities, I could see the members' enthusiasm and energy emanating from their eyes. Since then, I have been motivated every day by the idea that I must work hard to join SSU. Now that I'm appreciative of the chance of working as a board member, I'm also grateful to the voters who supported me. I will bring joy and good experiences closer to Sheridan students with all of my enthusiasm and dedication. I want everyone to have the same wonderful experiences that I have, to have more self-confidence so that we can work together to bring positive impacts to ourselves and others.”
What is your goal as a member of the Board this year?
“For me, creating a healthy and secure environment where Sheridan students feel comfortable sharing more of their experiences and opinions is the first objective that I want to accomplish. I want 80% of Sheridan students to be interested in the events held there. Stay connected, stay strong!
Mental health is the second thing that springs to mind. My objective is that all Sheridan students feel safe talking about their mental health problems and actively seeking help in order to achieve the goal that 90% of Sheridan's students have stable mental health.
Additionally, I want to increase pupils' understanding of issues like environmental concerns. My objective is for 80% of the school's dining halls and restrooms to always be maintained spotless after use, which helps Sheridan College develop more sustainably.”
