As a member of the Board of Directors at the Sheridan Student Union (SSU), our role is to oversee the management and direction of the SSU, representing the interests of the student body. Our impact can be significant in advocating for the needs of students and working to improve their experience.
What is your goal as a member of the Board this year?
“Some of my key goals include increasing the number of scholarships and bursaries available to students, organizing more cultural events to promote diversity and inclusivity, and creating additional networking opportunities to connect students with professionals in their fields of interest. Overall, my mission is to make a positive impact on the lives of students at Sheridan College.”
What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?
“My first memory of SSU was when I attended the booth of the SSU where they had mini-games for new students. I was given a bingo task which I completed ASAP and was able to secure the prize provided by the SSU. It was an SSU beanie which came in handy throughout the winter. Also, at this booth, I was made aware of the SSU perks and discounts with nearby partners and also about the academic help from their side.”
Are you a part of any SSU clubs/ associations or volunteer work?
Currently, I am a General community member at Enactus. Previously, I volunteered as a Double Blue Crew at the New Student Orientation where I was able to meet new students and make new friends.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Chaar Dham Yatra.
