Program: Architectural Technology Program
“I'm a second-year student in an Architectural Technology Program. I chose Sheridan College based on recommendations from family and friends as well as information I learned during an online tour. Sheridan College offers both domestic and international students opportunities, in addition, to having open ceilings for architecture to learn about systems and real-size models to help students understand the subject better made me realize that recommendations were not wrong.”
What is your goal as a member of the Board this year?
“The Board of Directors, comprising elected student representatives, oversees the management and direction of the Sheridan Student Union by making decisions on finances, policies, and programs to benefit the interests and concerns of Sheridan College students. By being in this position, I want to ensure that everyone has a powerful and proactive opinion while creating a comprehensive platform. I also want to advocate for the needs and wants of all students of Sheridan community by elevating the programs and services that support us the most, such as financial aid, mental health support, and other services.”
How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?
My first experience of SSU was during orientation. Later, when I became more involved on campus and took part in leadership events, I was able to meet many SSU leaders, and that is what most appealed to me. SSU is constantly coming up with new initiatives on campus, and I believe that the only reason Sheridan's all-campus appears to be vibrant is because of SSU and the ongoing events.”
