“Through faults of my own such as appreciating nature, I have grown a passion for traveling to different parts of the world, however, I find it quite hard to lift an eye when my nose is always in some sort of a book. I have found companions in different genres of books that sometimes make the normal world feel a little less exciting. Coming to Sheridan really helped me discover that thrill of life everyone spoke about. There was always something happening that made me wake up every day with excitement. I investigated the one responsible for making these things happen which led me to talk to a lot of students helping me discover the SSU. Seeing how it made my introverted self feel excited to get out of the house encouraged me to join the team and help make other students feel happy as I did. I look forward to being part of the team and working towards creating an amazing student experience that helps them forget about their worries for a little while.”

Have ideas or questions about SSU events?
Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?
“A few things that I look forward to achieving this year through this role are getting to learn about the needs and wants of the students and working with the entire team to bring them to reality. I have always been interested in Graphic Design and Digital Marketing (which is a newfound interest), and this platform helps me hone those skills and do what I love while making students and peers feel happy, heard, and included. Lastly, I also intend to help students feel a bit more at home when they are away from it, making them feel noticed when they are struggling and helping them find the joy they feel is lost in the midst of those struggles.”
Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?
“I am currently doing my BBA in Marketing Management, and this decision was inspired by the constant participation in business fairs held in my country which gave me a slight taste of the business world.”
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
I recently checked off watching the sunrise at the beach so my list needs a bit more reviving. However, my top three right now are:
Travelling to Turkey
Going on a Hot Air Balloon and watching the sunset
Learning how to Swim.
What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?
“I stumbled across the SSU website one day during a class lecture and saw an event about a trip to Wonderland, which I could not be a part of. I learned more about the SSU through a bunch of students and then friends who worked at the SSU.”
Which SSU Perk Partner is your personal favourite?
“Definitely has to be Dominos.”
What's the best SSU event you've attended so far?
“The best event has to be the Breakfast for Students where I met a lot of cool people!”
Are you a part of any SSU Clubs/Associations or Volunteer Work?
“ I am a part of the Muslim Students Association!”
