This is a contract position with LURA Consulting. LURA Consulting is collaborating with the Sheridan Student Union to develop an updated strategic plan that will guide the organization over the next four to five years. An ideal candidate must:
Currently be enrolled at Sheridan College.
Should be an engaged member of the Sheridan College student body.
Familiar with the physical layout of the college campus that you attend.
Able to connect authentically with students from diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Able to synthesize data collected into key themes.
Professional, outgoing, personable, reliable.
Well-organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Have access to a computer with Microsoft Office and be well-versed in associated
programs.
Key Tasks
Represent the project team as the face of the project on campus
Collect information from students and the campus community via surveys/comment cards and manage the flow of information to LURA team members
Synthesize data into key themes to share with the LURA team

Trafalgar Campus (Part-Time Student Position)

The Customer Service Representative will be the main contact for all students’ inquiries related to the SSU and our services. The Customer Service Representative works closely with students as well as SSU Executive team and professional staff.
Specific Duties Include:
Answer front line questions regarding all SSU services including Health and Dental plan, Food First, Legal Resource, Graduation Photos, Tax Service etc.
Promote services offered by the SSU by explaining what we offer, how to use the service, and the features and benefits of the service
Ensure all emails, voicemail, live chat messages and virtual platform (when applicable) are answered in a timely manner and any serious issues are escalated to the appropriate manager
Recording a detailed daily log of completed tasks, pending tasks, student inquiries, and student feedback
Work with all team members in a fair and respectful manner in accordance with legislation and SSU Policy and Procedures. Contribute ideas in relation to operational efficiency and service standards and make recommendations to the Director of Services and Assistant Services Manager
Participate in virtual and in-person events, info-sessions, engagement activities, Open House and Orientation when needed
Mandatory attendance at all relevant training and team meetings
Perform other duties as assigned throughout the year by the Assistant Services Manager and Director of Services
Booking and coordinating college classrooms, boardrooms, and tables for SSU Clubs, SSU Executives and SSU Staff (if restrictions are lifted by the college regarding campus access)
Cleaning and tidying of CSR work desk
Doing facility checks in our spaces and troubleshooting/fixing anything that may fall under our department
Coordinating and sorting interoffice mail, follow guidelines for distributing packages shipped to our offices.
Wear provided uniform for every scheduled shift
Assist students with faxing, laminating, and binding services
Required Skills:Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the Sheridan community
Must be punctual and arrive to all shifts on time
Be present at the desk during your scheduled shift
Answer all incoming emails and live chats quickly and in friendly and helpful manner
Willingness to host and participate in virtual and in-person events is considered a strong asset

Full-time Positions

As the Assistant Manager of Clubs, you'll work closely with the Director of Clubs and the Campus Clubs Coordinators along with hundreds of student Club Executives to provide support to student organizations on campus with resources and opportunities. You will also be working within the Sheridan Community to showcase the importance and value of being involved with clubs at Sheridan to all students. Regular travel between all three campuses will be required.
Specific Duties Include:
This position holds a number of responsibilities and duties that may be modified from time to time by the Director, Clubs, therefore it is important to note that not all functions and duties are contained within this description and this position will change and adapt over time.
Club Management:
Working alongside the Director, Clubs in providing leadership, support and management to the campus Clubs Coordinators.
Assist the Director, Clubs in the hiring, training and transitioning of Clubs Coordinators each year.
Provide immediate updates on all clubs supervisory issues to Director, Clubs.
Liaising with other SSU departments to ensure vertical integration for club initiatives and activities as well as general SSU objectives.
Act as the primary resource for all Clubs Coordinators when planning Clubs Fairs, Club President Meetings, Orientation and any other Club Department hosted events.
Club Administration
Become knowledgeable in all applicable club policies, procedures and risk management, while ensuring that all clubs and campus Club Coordinators follow all policies and procedures as outlined by the Sheridan Student Union and Sheridan College’s Student Code of Conduct.
Work with the SSU Marketing department to ensure club pages on SSU website are up to date with applicable club information and to assist in coordinating all club-related marketing requests.
Finance
Work alongside the Director, Clubs to establish budgetary requirements for each fiscal year for the department.
Review and approve bi-weekly payroll for the Clubs Coordinators.
Process all financial start up funding for new and re-registered clubs.

It is important to note that this position encompasses a range of responsibilities and should be
ever-changing and adaptive. Finance will provide full training and ongoing support to the Co-op student in this position to ensure the individual gets the full experience and builds a solid
foundation toward an accounting career.Specific duties include:
Accounts Payable – A full cycle of accounts payable, including prompt payment of invoices, expense reimbursements, other cheque requests on a weekly basis, and collecting T4A Self-Employed forms
Corporate Visa Expense Entries – Review to ensure complete and accurate Visa
reconciliation entries and to follow up with cardholders on any outstanding mattersBank reconciliation – Assist with completing bank reconciliation and month-end journal entries
Finance Committee – Assist with coordinating Finance Committee meetings and updating minutes, other workshops and trainings
Finance initiatives and projects - Assist with coordinating finance events and projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Accounting at Sheridan College
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Able to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team
Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Professional work ethic and ability to exercise sound judgment, which may include maintaining confidential information
