health & dental coverage

Looking for student health and dental insurance?
We’ve got you covered.

May 4, 2026 - May 21, 2026
New students! The blackout period for SSU’s Health & Dental Plan Starts on May 4. If you are enrolled, please know that you are covered, but will not be able to access or use the plan directly (e.g., by submitting claims or using the portal) until the blackout period ends.

📌 What to do: Keep your receipts and claim your insurance once the blackout period has ended. It is common for your claims to be denied in this blackout period because the insurance company may not have fully processed your coverage information yet. For more questions, visit our SSU Customer Service Desk across all three campuses.

Did you know that StudentCare is becoming Alumo? All of your coverage you enjoy will remain the same, with a new name. You are covered for vision care, travel insurance, and health and dental needs and are also given the chance to customize your plan during the change of coverage period.

Important Dates:

  • Spring/Summer 2026 Term Change of Coverage: Monday, May 4, 2026 to Thursday, May 21, 2026.
