Did you know?
Your plan has a preferred provider program where you can receive extra discounts and direct billing. See more about the preferred provider here.

Eye exams are covered 100% up to $100 every 24 months, and eyewear is covered $100 up to $150 every 24 months.

Did you know that SSU’s Health and Dental plan also covers your travel insurance? Sheridan students are covered for up to 120 days per trip! Your coverage includes hospital, physician, and other services for emergency treatment of an injury or illness while travelling outside of the province in which you reside (including international travel).

Be sure to review the information in your Plan’s travel documentation for details and exclusions and check the Government of Canada’s travel advice and advisories.

You are covered up to $5,000,000/ trip.

You can add your eligible dependants to your plan, whether that be your children, your spouse, or both.

Head to studentbenefits.ca, select “SSU” and select Add Dependants from the left side of your screen. You will need to pay the applicable fee through the site.

If you have acceptable alternative health and dental coverage, you can apply to opt out of the SSU health and dental plan. Simply head to studentbenefits.ca, select SSU, and follow the steps to provide your proof of alternative coverage.

Make sure you get it done during the associated Change of Coverage period.

• Log in to your Maple account through the app or web and select the Maple Assistance Program tile from your dashboard.

• Set up your account.

• Once inside the program, navigate through the app to access the services you need. All phone-based services are reached through a single central number available through your account. Call 1-877-315-2276; this number is available 24/7.

Maple allows students to connect with qualified counsellors, consultants, and life coaches for a variety of issues. As a Sheridan student, you are entitled to sessions delivered by telephone, by video-counselling, or by e-counselling.

• Counselling – sessions with trained counsellors and therapists to address any challenges you are facing.

• Financial Guidance – counsellors to discuss personal finance issues and planning

• Crisis support – 24/7 crisis assessment and immediate support, and much more.
