legal advice

Talk is cheap, unless you have to talk to a lawyer! As your Student Union, we want to help you out when you need it the most. That's why we offer FREE legal advice for Sheridan students. Our legal advice covers everything from family law, immigration, criminal law, to real estate and business.

Meet William, our designated on-site lawyer!

Meet William, our designated on-site lawyer!

All Sheridan College students have access to a lawyer who can provide assistance on legal issues free-of-charge. Our lawyer can provide you with confidential advice and assistance with legal respect to most legal issues, including landlord and tenant conflicts, family law, employment law, criminal law, debt issues, immigration and other government matters, and corporate and intellectual property issues. In conjunction with these services, the lawyer is also available to provide advice on legal documents and proceedings and to notarize or commission documents where appropriate.

To book an appointment for your free legal advice, you can contact our customer service team or visit the SSU office at your campus.

The legal service is provided by William Reid, who has both a law degree and an MBA. Mr. Reid has been a lawyer for 30 years, and has provided legal services to students in particular for over 25 years.

Mr. Reid rotates among Sheridan campuses, most Thursday and Saturday mornings, and meets with students in 30-minute appointments.
