In 2011 5% of industrial designers in Canada were estimated to be women. WID aims to cultivate longevity of interest and skill for women while networking within the Craft and Design department at Trafalgar Campus. From 3D scanning workshops to trips to the HMC Materials library, to tours of the Davis campus production labs. Our club aims to cultivate interest in the intersections of material and technology for students who identify as women or non-binary while inspiring inter-campus collaboration and use of resources.
Design thinking has the power to intersectionally affect society, human relationships and our relationship with the planet on a micro and macro scale.
WID at Sheridan aims to ensure that club members have the skills, social capital and agency to do so.
