Leadership and Education (C.I.R.C.L.E), we are taking a bus trip to the Woodland Cultural Centre to support the ongoing work of truth, healing, and reconciliation.

September 30th, 2026

Take the day to honour the survivors of residential schools, their families, communities, and the children who never returned home. Together, we invite all members of the Sheridan community to use this day thoughtfully and take a step towards reconciliation.

Learn More About the Woodland Cultural Centre (WCC)

The Woodland Cultural Centre is a former Residential school that serves to preserve, promote, and strengthen Indigenous languages, culture, art, and history by bringing the story of the Hodinohsho:ni people of the Eastern Woodlands to life through innovative exhibitions and programs.

Here’s What You Should Know About National Day for Truth and Reconciliation: Trip to the Woodland Cultural Centre

• This off-campus trip to Woodland Cultural Centre is happening on Wednesday, September 30th.

  • Transportation will be provided from Trafalgar campus (Oakville) at the ‘Big S’

  • On-campus pick-up time: 9:15 A.M.

  • Head back to campus: 3:30 P.M.

• Please note that the registration includes admission to the Woodland Cultural Centre museum, a self-guided tour of the Former Mohawk Institute Residential School, and transportation, a tote bag from C.I.R.C.L.E, we welcome you to in community.

• Open to Sheridan students, staff, and faculty only. All attendees must have their own ticket.

• The bus booking was made possible thanks to a donation from Angela Bruce Chapter IODE.

• The SSU Hungry Café will be providing a free packed lunch.

• The Sheridan Student Union (SSU) will be providing orange T-shirts for everyone on the bus.
