This conference is FREE and open to everyone, features a globally-recognized keynote speaker, networking opportunities, and student-led leadership workshops. You’ll also get to meet other students and learn about leadership from Sheridan senior leaders.

Meet Your Keynote Speaker, Dillon Mendes

"Dillon Mendes is an alumnus of the Top 35 under 35 global changemaker awards, the co-founder of the social enterprise, PickWaste (featured on CBC, CTV, and CityNews), and a TEDx & youth speaker. Over the past five years, Dillon has travelled across North America, speaking to thousands of students about community impact and student leadership.

Dillon is also a strategy consultant at Deloitte Canada and has previously worked in growth at DarwinAI, and management consulting at KPMG.

Professional life aside, Dillon enjoys playing spikeball, strength training, and eating sushi.”

Attend a diverse range of 1-hour sessions, delivered by your fellow Sheridan Bruins, and explore topics in leadership related to personal growth, teamwork and making a difference. Learn about leadership styles, theories and develop new skills to grow your leadership potential.

Join us for an inspirational session that illuminates the path to resilience, fostering the strength to face life's battles head-on.

  • Embark on a transformative journey as we explore the remarkable relationship between leadership agility and cultural diversity. This exciting workshop, "Culturally Agile Leadership: Thriving in Diverse Environments," aims to highlight the critical importance of cultural intelligence in effective leadership in Canada's rich and diverse settings. Through engaging activities, practical instances, and interactive conversations, attendees will learn how agility can be used to effectively navigate the complexity of cultural diversity.   • This is an interactive workshop with hands-on activities to explore some of the leadership and entrepreneurship notions. Through this workshop, students can develop a personal understanding of leadership traits, express how they apply these traits in daily life, collaborate effectively in groups, improve teamwork and critical thinking, speak confidently in discussions, and recognize the usefulness of leadership traits in entrepreneurship and career success.   • What does Visionary Leadership mean to you? This session is mainly focused on fostering a positive difference in Sheridan community as a forward-thinking student leader doing on-campus roles. This will be illustrated by the speakers' story about their own journey at Sheridan. Throughout the session, participants will also get a chance to share about their experiences and thoughts that encourage them to make a difference as a student leader. As a result, students can understand how unique they are; discover their potential and get themselves ready to be a leader. Lastly, this workshop also aims to explore creative ways to be proactive, inspire others and drive positive change to your community. Get ready for an interactive conversation and an informative lecture all in one!

  • How do I lead my team and myself when the circumstances are uncertain and ambiguous? What do I do when the goals are not clear, when the task is complex, and when nobody knows what to do? It’s time to think and discuss on tapping the leader in you to face the challenge. In this session, we will identify the challenges in navigating uncertainty and assess the qualities that we already have in us, and work on the mind shift to being comfortable with uncertainty.

Join us for an engaging conversation with Nadeka Boothe (Athletics Business Operations Manager), Cory Latimer (Associate Director, Cooperative & Career Education), Puneet Kaur Johal (Research Assistant- Off-Campus Housing and Community Connections) and Felipe Da Silva (Peer Mentor Team Lead). Our panelists will share diverse perspectives on leadership, and help you gain a holistic perspective on what it means to be a leader in your community.
