Show up, Take Up Space & Make Your Community Safe 🕯️
Join your SSU for ‘Take Back The Night’, an evening to stand together against gender-based violence and to show up for the people in our community who have been affected by it.
November 3rd
During the programming, we will learn from campus leaders, community advocates like Halton Women’s Place, survivors, and subject matter experts. They’ll share insights on gender-based violence, prevention, healing, and community action. After the speakers, we’ll take part in a symbolic Take Back The Night march, walking together in solidarity with survivors and advocating for safer communities.
Why Should I Be A Part Of Take Back The Night?
Take Back the Night is an annual event that is recognized around the world. The focus is on raising awareness of all forms of violence against women and children. It is estimated that 1 in 3 Canadian women will experience sexual assault in their lifetime. Violence comes in many forms and impacts people from all walks of life.
