Discover Clubs: Shanghai Bound

Hey, Sheridan Bruins!

We are Noah Beemer (Windsor, ON), Emma Burke-Kleinman (Toronto, ON), Michael Derworiz (Prince Albert, SK), Jill Goranson (Red Deer, AB), and Kelsi James (Coquitlam, BC). We have just completed our third (and second to last!) year in the Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario.

This June, 2018, the five of us are fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in Theatre Sheridan’s fourth annual cultural exchange, spending three and a half weeks in China to further strengthen our exciting international partnerships. The trip focuses on learning and international collaboration in musical theatre and we are incredibly excited to be able to celebrate our art form across the globe.

We are looking forward to teaching and working with the musical theatre students at the Vanke Bilingual School in Shanghai, visiting cultural centres, theatres and universities in Shanghai and Beijing, meetings and masterclasses with Chinese theatre practitioners, exposure to another culture to broaden our perspectives and effect our outlooks of the world as people and artists.

We leave on June 21st (!!!!!), and are so excited to share this journey with all of you! Follow us on social media @ThirdNationalCo to follow along with our travels.
