Q: Tell us about you and your role within the SU:
“Hi, I’m Samiya Khan, and I’m honoured to be serving as your Director of the Student Executive Team. I recently graduated in April 2025 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Sheridan. As a recent international student graduate—I understand firsthand the challenges many of our students face, because I was in their shoes not long ago. Throughout my time at Sheridan, I’ve always been actively involved with students, and now I’m truly thrilled to be in a role where I can continue supporting them. Whether it’s advocating for their needs, bringing their ideas to life, or simply being a listening ear, I am here for it all! After all, we are for the students, by the students and I am incredibly proud to be part of a team that works every day to enhance their experience.”
Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?
“My goals this year are to amplify the student voice, strengthen community engagement, and advocate for resources that support students' growth. I also aim to create a cohesive student experience and promote mental health and wellness by raising awareness and ensuring support. Ultimately, I want to have an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.”
