Program: Social Service Worker

Tell us about you and your role within the SSU:

“Hello! My name is Austin Sharpe. I’m turning 31 this year! I love to read manga, build and paint models for tabletop war gaming, and staying up late to get the landscape grading juust right in my Cities Skylines world. Here at Sheridan, I’m working through the social service worker program at the Trafalgar campus! I’m most looking forward to connecting with y’all -my fellow students- and collaborating on ways to improve this place for the future.”

What is your goal as a member of the Board this year?

“As a board member this year, my primary focus will be on examining critical infrastructure around communication between the SSU and students, and exploring new and innovative ways to enhance that experience.”

Tell us a fun fact about you:

“From age 17 to 23, I was in a band. We put out 2 EP’s and a full-length album, and there are even a few music videos on YouTube!”

As a new Board Member, what are your expectations of this role?

“As a new board member, I’m looking forward to all the opportunities I’ll have to engage with students, learning and seeing firsthand the impact that the SSU has on the student body, and providing a unique perspective to the shaping of our student experience.”
