Sania Sachdeva

Board of Director, 2025-2026

Program: Software Development and Network Engineering

Tell us about you and your role within the SU:

“Hi, my name is Sania Sachdeva, I am first-year Computer Systems Technology-SDNE student who loves coding. I started this year with the goal of personal growth, making meaningful connections and embracing new opportunities. I am truly honoured and humbled to be a Board Director of Sheridan Student Union(SSU). For me this is far more than an opportunity —it’s a responsibility I take on with dedication and genuine enthusiasm. I am committed to ensuring that every student in our college feels heard, valued, and included. I am thrilled to embark on this new journey of teamwork to enhance student life and help students develop a sense of belonging and pride in the Sheridan community.”

What is your goal as a member of the Board this year?

“As a Board Director this year, my goal is to focus on the issues that matter most to students at Sheridan. I want every student to feel included and valued, no matter their background, and to help create a space where everyone can thrive. I also want to raise awareness about sexual health and wellness, ensuring students have the resources and information they need to make informed choices. Supporting women and creating an environment where they feel respected and empowered is something I’m passionate about as well. Transportation is another issue I’ve learned a lot about during the campaign period, I understand how important it is for students to commute. I’m committed to finding better solutions so students can spend less time worrying about transportation and more time focusing on their studies. Through teamwork and action, I hope to contribute to a more inclusive, supportive, and positive environment for all students.”

Tell us a fun fact about you:

“A fun fact about me is that I’m always multitasking in the most creative ways! Whether it’s listening to a podcast while brainstorming new ideas or coding while figuring out what to make for dinner, my brain seems to work best when it’s juggling a few things at once.”

As a new Board Member, what are your expectations of this role?

“As a new Board Member, I am expecting overall growth in various areas, including my confidence, decision-making abilities, professionalism, and communication skills. I believe this role will push me to develop as a leader and help me become more effective in both personal and professional settings. It will also contribute to creating connections.”
