Gurshaan Singh Sidhu
Board of Director, 2025-2026
Program: Computer System Technology- Information Systems Engineering
Tell us about you and your role within the SSU:
“My name is Gurshaan Singh Sidhu, and I am honoured to serve as a Board Member for the Sheridan Student Union, representing the Trafalgar Campus. In this role, I am dedicated to advocating for the interests of students and contributing to the strategic direction of the SSU. I aim to ensure that student perspectives are reflected in key decisions, while also supporting initiatives that foster an inclusive, engaging, and empowering campus environment.”
What is your goal as a member of the Board this year?
“My goal as a Board Member this year is to amplify student voices and make sure every student at Sheridan feels seen, heard, and supported. I’m passionate about building stronger connections between students and their union, so I’ll be focused on improving communication and making it easier for students to engage, give feedback, and get involved. I also expect this position to provide opportunities for collaboration, working closely with fellow Board Members, SSU staff, and student groups to support projects and policies that promote inclusivity, student wellness, and academic success. I believe that being part of this Board means being approachable, proactive, and committed to ongoing learning.”
Tell us a fun fact about you:
“I’m always up for trying new foods, hitting the gym, and discovering new music, whether it's finding the latest tracks or exploring different cuisines. When I’m not doing that, you’ll probably find me hanging out with friends, enjoying good company and making the most of the time working out in the gym.”
As a new Board Member, what are your expectations of this role?
“As a new Board Member, I view this role as both an incredible responsibility and a unique opportunity to serve the Sheridan student community in a meaningful way. My primary expectation is to actively contribute to the strategic decisions that impact student life, ensuring that the diverse voices and needs of our students are not only heard but thoughtfully considered in every discussion and initiative.”
