Q: Tell us about you and your role within the SSU
My goal is to learn and grow as a designer from my fellow students and other SSU staff to become a better artist and learn better ways to communicate my ideas through graphic design. I want to make students feel excited about the space they're in and feel represented and connected to the community around them
Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?
My goal is to learn and grow as a designer from my fellow students and the other SSU staff in order to become a better artist and learn even better ways of communicating my ideas through graphic design. I want to make students feel excited about the space they're in and feel represented and connected to the community around them
Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?
I am a second-year student in the Animation program at Sheridan. I grew up watching cartoons, and they were a huge comfort and source of inspiration when I was a kid, and now I want to make new stories for future generations that will help move and empower kids like me. I also love storytelling, art, and most especially, working collaboratively with others, so animation feels like somewhere I can really thrive.
Q: What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?
My earliest memories of the SSU come from attending Clubs Fair in my previous program; I loved the club presence at Sheridan and went to check out what was available on campus. I remember being super shy and nervous just walking around saying hi to everyone, and I'm so glad I took the jump to join a club!
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Visit Yellowstone National Park
2. Do a cross-country road trip
3. Get a tattoo!
Q: What's the best SSU event you've attended so far?
The end-of-year Gala in 2023!!
Q: Which SSU Perk Partner is your personal favourite?
The Royal Ontario Museum!
Q: Are you a part of any SSU clubs/associations or volunteer work?
I have been President of Zine Club for the past 2 years, but now I will be stepping down and handing it to a new team to keep up our legacy! Check it out for some incredible original art from our student body :) I am also now an exec of the Animation Student Council!
