“Hi, I’m Sabrina! I’m a Junior Designer at the SSU. My pastimes of choice include collecting toys and trinkets, writing songs on my guitar, and listening to music. I wanted to work with the SSU because I hope to pursue a career in art and design! Sheridan has been an amazing space to meet other creative people, and I look forward to making all kinds of cool designs for the SSU.”
Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?
I hope to create designs that encourage the Sheridan community to support SSU initiatives and, as a certified junk journaler, are memorable enough to keep as mementos for the school year!
Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?
I am in Sheridan's Illustration program. I chose Illustration because I have always been passionate about art but had only ever been self-taught. This program has given me the chance to learn from industry professionals, as well as venture outside of my comfort zone in terms of style and medium!
Q: What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?
My first memory of the SSU was finding their Instagram page. I remember being really nervous the summer before my first year—I had a good idea of what my program had to offer, but not much outside of that! The SSU Instagram had information about the clubs, events, and services available to me as a Sheridan student, and it definitely helped ease my transition into first year.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. See The 1975 live in concert.
2. Finish my comic TBR.
3. Adopt a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel.
