Q: Tell us about you and your role within the SSU
I’m a Member Services Ambassador (MSA) with the Sheridan Student Union. I really enjoy being able to help students navigate Sheridan, whether that means answering questions, connecting them with the right resources, helping with events, or simply making their experience on campus a little easier. I wanted to work with the SSU because it gives me the opportunity to be more involved in the Sheridan community while supporting other students. I’m looking forward to meeting more people, getting involved in events, and continuing to learn more about everything the SSU has to offer.
Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?
One of my biggest goals is to become an even better resource for students. I want students to feel comfortable approaching me with questions and know that, even if I don’t immediately have the answer, I’ll help them find the right person or resource. I’d also like to become more involved with SSU events, meet more students across Sheridan, and contribute to making campus feel welcoming and connected.
Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?
I’m in the Honours Bachelor of Computer Science program (cloud computing specialization). I chose Computer Science because I’ve always enjoyed technology, problem-solving, and building things. What I like most about the field is being able to take an idea and turn it into something that actually works and can be useful to people. Sheridan appealed to me because of its hands-on approach to learning and the opportunity to apply what I learn through projects and practical experience.
Q: What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Visit Antarctica
Build a successful tech company from the ground up
Grow a garden big enough to produce a significant amount of my own food.
Q: What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?
Before joining the SSU team, I actually didn’t know very much about it at all! In fact, my first time ever visiting the Student Centre and the Marquee was on my very first shift. Little did I know how much I had been missing out on all those years! Since joining the team, I’ve learned just how many events, services, resources, and supports the SSU provides for students. Working here has given me a completely different perspective, and now I get to be one of the people helping students discover and access those same opportunities.
