Get to know Janica Sivani (she/her):

Q: Tell us about you and your role within the SSU

I am Janica and am currently completing my second program at Sheridan, Applied Data Analytics and Visualization. Within the SSU, I work as a Member Service Ambassador/CSR, where I support students by answering questions, directing them to the right resources, and processing requests accurately while keeping things organized and professional even when things get fast-paced.

Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?

This year in my role, I want to get quicker and more confident handling student requests, use some of what I'm picking up in Data Analytics to make things run a bit smoother, and keep growing into someone my team can count on.

Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?

Applied Data Analytics and Visualization at Sheridan College. I chose this in order to build on my Honours Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences in Cyber Security, also from Sheridan, and to add strong data analytics and visualization skills to that foundation.

Q: What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?

My first memory of the SSU was going in with a question as a student and getting quick, clear help. I first learned it existed through orientation, as the go-to place for student support. Now, coming back as a returning student and working here myself, it's been interesting seeing that support from the other side.
