I’m looking forward to connecting with students, helping them access resources, and contributing to events that make campus life more engaging. What I love most about Sheridan is the creativity, diversity, and energy — there’s always something happening and always someone willing to help.
Get to know Evan (He/him):
Q: Tell us about you and your role within the SSU
I’m a Sheridan Marketing & Advertising student and a Member Services Ambassador with the SSU. I enjoy being involved in campus life and helping students feel welcomed, informed, and supported. I wanted to work with the SSU because I’ve always appreciated how creative and community‑focused Sheridan is, and the SSU plays a huge part in shaping that experience. I’m looking forward to connecting with students, helping them access resources, and contributing to events that make campus life more engaging. What I love most about Sheridan is the creativity, diversity, and energy — there’s always something happening and always someone willing to help.
Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?
My goals this year are to help more students discover SSU services, make information easier to understand, and create a welcoming environment at the Member Services desk. I want to use my marketing background to improve communication, boost engagement, and help students feel confident accessing the support available to them.
Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?
I’m in Marketing & Advertising. I chose this program because I love creative strategy, content creation, and understanding how brands connect with people. Sheridan stood out to me because of its strong reputation in creative industries, hands‑on learning, and opportunities to work on real projects. It’s the perfect place to build both creative and professional skills.
Q: What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?
My first memory of the SSU was seeing the Welcome Week booths and realizing how many services were available — discounts, events, support, and places to hang out. I discovered the SSU existed for student support when I stopped by one of the coffee spots and saw all the signage about perks, events, and student resources.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Travel to Japan and explore Tokyo’s creative culture, especially its underground music scene and live performance spaces.
Create a short documentary or branded music project that gets featured at a festival - something that blends visuals, storytelling, and your artistry.
Perform at or attend a major music festival like Afro Nation or Rolling Loud, and experience the energy of being surrounded by artists and fans who love the same sound.
Q: Which SSU Perk Partner is your personal favourite?
My favourite SSU Perk Partner is Booster Juice — it’s convenient, refreshing, and perfect between classes (especially in the summer).
Q: What's the best SSU event you've attended so far?
The best SSU event I’ve attended was Welcome Week as it set the tone for the year, made it easy to meet people, and helped me feel connected to campus right away.
Q: Are you a part of any SSU clubs/ associations or volunteer work?
As a Member Services Ambassador, I’m already actively involved with the SSU through my role, supporting students and helping them access resources and services. While I’m not currently part of any SSU clubs or associations, I stay engaged through campus events and activities, and I’m always open to joining more student groups as the year goes on.
