Get to know Skyler (He/him):

Q: Tell us about you and your role within the SSU

I am Member Student Ambassador at the Davis Campus. I have been working as a MSA since September 2025 and have loved every second of it. I am a huge fantasy nerd and love everything related to TTRPG's like Dungeons & Dragons. I am an avid Sci-fi reader, enjoy watching improv comedy (especially Game Changer), and want to make sure every student enjoys their time at Sheridan!

Q: What are some of your goals for your role this year?

I am looking forward to helping students navigate and learn about the new Health and Dental plan this year as much as possible. I also want to help students learn about all the resources available to them through the SSU, such as Student Perks, Dressed for Success, and our Equipment Loan.

Q: What program are you in? And why did you choose this program at Sheridan?

I am currently in the Child & Youth Care program (CYC), and was previously in the Social Service Worker program before switching over. I choose CYC because I believe that childhood and adolescence are the most vital moments of a persons life and have a direct connection to their outcomes later in life. I want to be able to help young persons through those times and advocate for them getting access to services that will assist them through tough experiences.

Q: What was your first memory of the SSU? How did you discover that the SSU existed for student support?

A friend of mine started working for the SSU in my first semester here. They introduced me to the SSU and all the services and food options they have to offer. As they worked there and learned more, I learned from them and loved hearing about the events the SSU hosts.

Q: Which SSU Perk Partner is your personal favourite?

My favourite Perk Partner is the Royal Ontario Museum.

Q: What's the best SSU event you've attended so far?

I attended the Valentines Day Murder Mystery party which was by far the best event I've attended!

Q: Are you a part of any SSU clubs/ associations or volunteer work?

I am part of the Pride Club and the Dungeons and Dragons Club
